EXPRESS SERVICE - APRIL 2008!
York Ironing provides a 48 hour turnaround as standard. However, from 1st April 2008, any customer requiring an express 24 hour turnaround can now do so for an additional 15% cost per item. Please let us know what you think of this new service.
PRICE CHANGE
On 1st April 2008 our prices will be increasing slightly but we are confident that we are still competitive and believe that York Ironing customers actually get a far superior service for their money than is the case with some of our rivals! Existing customers should hopefully have received a letter setting out the new prices. However, full details are available on our 'Services' and 'Costs' pages.
IT'S OUR FIFTH BIRTHDAY!
On Saturday 16th February 2008, York Ironing will have been trading for five years. Little did I realise when I first considered starting the business just how popular the idea would prove to be and how fast things would grow. In five years, York Ironing has progressed from a one-woman operation to a dedicated team of ironers and drivers serving almost 500 regular and one-off customers in and around York. To date, we have ironed 210,420 adult items, 42,369 child items, 5,942 sheets and duvets and 2,105 hankies! Hopefully this has enabled many York residents to fill their resulting leisure time in more enjoyable pursuits. Thank you everyone for making us what we are today.

400TH CUSTOMER!
On 7th June 2007, York Ironing celebrated it's 400th customer, Margaret from Heworth. She was given a bottle of Moet and a bunch of roses with our compliments.
IT'S OUR 4th BIRTHDAY!
We'd like you to help us celebrate our 4th birthday. New clients booking in between Friday 16th and Sunday 18th February 2007 will receive £15 of gift vouchers to be redeemed against their next batch of ironing.
DRY CLEANING - MARCH 2007
We are very pleased to be able to add dry cleaning to York Ironing's list of services with effect from 1st March 2007. For a small fee, we will collect your dry cleaning with your ironing and return it with the same delivery as your finished ironing - a fast and convenient turn around which will hopefully relieve our customers of another of lifes hassles! Please see the 'Costs' page for further information and remember, we value your feedback. Please let us know what you think of this new service.

CHRISTMAS PARTY 2006
On Saturday 23rd December 2006, we had York Ironings Christmas Party at The Churchill Hotel, York. We had a great night - a nice end to another busy year. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers a very Merry Christmas.

Well, it hasn't taken long - infact within days our new van has started to generate new business as people have either approached our driver or phoned up for information/collection. The response from existing customers has been equally gratifying. Thank you to you all.

you can see from the photos, it's looking great! Seeing the van out on the road with my company logo is the realisation of a
dream and nearly 4 years of hard work. I'm proud of what my growing team and I have achieved and hopefully in the future there
will be a whole fleet of York Ironing vans travelling in and around the city.
YORK IRONING'S SMART NEW UNIFORM - OCTOBER 2006
Our exisiting customers will probably have noticed that last year our drivers started to wear T-shirts emblazoned with the York Ironing company logo. Due to the approaching winter months, we are now introducing company fleece/waterproof jackets to compliment these. I hope that our employees will always appear smart and professional when they call.
YORK IRONING'S NEW VAN - SEPTEMBER 2006
We are very pleased to be able to announce that on Friday 8th September 2006, we took possession of a Vauxhall Vivaro van for collecting and delivering your ironing. As the company has continued to grow, it has become increasingly harder to manage with my people carrier. This new van has been fitted with hanging rails and is capable of carrying several times more hanging garments and baskets than the people carrier could. Plus, I hope you'll agree, that it presents a smart and professional appearance for our rapidly expanding business. We are currently in the process of designing and planning graphics for the van to be sign written. This is an exciting step in our growth and hopefully it will be a good advertisement as well!
YORK IRONING BBQ - SEPTEMBER 2006
This year saw the second annual staff barbeque. It was orginally planned for Saturday 2nd September 2006, but due to the tremendous amount of rain, it had to be postponed until the 16th. Most members of staff and their families were able to make it, and despite it still being a little damp underfoot and not as warm as we would have liked, everyone seemed to have a good time. Next year I think we'll probably try to fix a date in the summer!
RACE FOR LIFE 2006
On the evening of Wednesday 28th June 2006, the York Ironing team entered the Race for Life at York's Knavesmire for the third consecutive year. I think we have a lot to be proud of as we raised well over £600 for Cancer Research UK, smashing the amount we raised last year by around £400! Once again, a great many of York Ironing's loyal customers helped to make this possible by their kind sponsorship, so thank you everyone.

Thursday 18th May 2006 saw us welcome our 300th customer, Lucy of Heworth, York. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a big bottle of Lanson when we delivered her ironing back to her.

On Wednesday 27th July 2005, we were delighted to welcome our 200th customer, Jenny of Blossom Street, York. Jenny, had not long welcomed her second baby to the family. We were pleased to present her with a bouquet of flowers and a big bottle of Moet When we delivered her ironing back to her.
RACE FOR LIFE 2005
For the second year York Ironing entered a team in the Race for Life. This event is sponsored by Tesco, and all funds raised benefit Cancer Research UK Ltd. The event was held at York Knavesmire on 13th July 2005, and our team complted the 5km course, running amongst some 5000 women, raising a grand total of £270. A big thank you to everyone who sponsored us.
BRING A POUND TO WORK DAY 2005
On 28th July 2005, Macmillan Cancer Relief held a Bring-a-Pound-to-Work-Day supported by Minster FM. For the second year running York Ironing took part and our team donated £25 to this worthy cause.

On 16th February 2005 York Ironing will be 2 years old! To celebrate the occassion, we are offering a special promotion to all new customers during February. Simply mention that you've seen this article on our website and for your first basket of £20 or over, we will be pleased to give you a £5 discount. On Thursday 4th November 2004, we were pleased to welcome our 100th customer, Emma Pattison, a young mum of two from Leeman Road. When we delivered her ironing back to her, she was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a lovely bottle of Moet!

To help any new, exisiting or potential customers calculate the cost of their ironing we have introduced a new feature to our site. The ironing calculator, on our costs page, is an interactive program designed to work out the price of your ironing for you. We hope you find this useful.
EXCITING NEWS - 15/09/2004
We are very excited and pleased to announce that on 15th September 2004 we took delivery of the new York Ironing vehicle. At the time of writing, we are in the process of arranging sign writing. However, as victims of our own success, the biggest problem we have right now is actually finding some time when the vehicle is not in use! As soon as this is complete we will upload some photographs, so watch this space! Hopefully you will soon see us out and about all over York and the surrounding areas, so don't forget to give us a wave!
DUNNINGTON PROMOTION 09/2004
As we already have a number of satisfied customers using York Ironing in Dunnington, we decided to target Dunnington as the first of many local area promotions.The promotion offers new customers a 10% discount on a first service and continued free collection/delivery (normally reserved for customers within the York Ring Road). We look forward to welcoming many new customers over the coming weeks and will keep you updated with the progress/success of this promotion.
